MEPs elected

Following the constituent session of the European Parliament, an official list of MEPs elected to the Parliament has been produced. The lists of MEPs (searchable by Group, by country, or by delegation) can be found here (link to the European Parliament website).

Re-elected MEPs

Around half of the membership of the parliament consists of new members. Only 9% of Greek MEPs were re-elected, and only a quarter of Lithuanian and Italian MEPs were in the last parliament. Malta, the UK and Ireland have the highest percentages of returning MEPs.

Gender balance

The percentage of female MEPs continues to grow and, as a result of the elections, now stands at 35% of the Parliament’s membership. Finland (62%) and Sweden (56%) have the highest proportions of women elected, with Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia and the Netherlands at or around 50-50 representation. Less than one-fifth of the Czech Republic’s representation is female, and all of Malta’s MEPs are male.
